Manufacturing business-focused ERP software developer Epicor has agreed to acquire privately-held mid-market manufacturing execution systems (MES) specialist Solarsoft Business Systems from Marlin Equity Partners.
When the deal closes, in 45 days, Epicor will have extended its portfolio of discrete manufacturing, distribution and wholesale industry ERP solutions to include factory floor solutions that measure, monitor and optimise production and manufacturing operations.
"The acquisition is an excellent fit culturally and from a technology standpoint," states Pervez Qureshi, president and CEO of Epicor.
"Both companies offer deep industry expertise, and are committed to building long-term relationships with customers, providing next-generation capabilities and enabling technologies – on-premise, on-demand, hosted, or in the cloud – that customers need as their businesses evolve," he adds.
"We are pleased to join forces with Epicor," comments Shawn McMorran, CEO of Solarsoft. "Collectively, we will have over 22,000 customers and combined revenues approaching one billion dollars annually, making us part of one of the largest enterprise software providers worldwide."
