European Automation, the supplier of industrial automation parts, has opened a new 'lean' 10,000 sq ft warehouse (pictured) in Fenton, one of the six towns of Stoke-on-Trent.
The company says the site will provide faster delivery of components such as inverters motors and PLCs to its worldwide customers.
The new warehouse facility will allow European Automation to acquire and stock a larger number of spare parts, particularly old generation or obsolete automation components. This, it says, will save time when locating parts.
Managing director Mark Proctor says "Traditional drop shipping techniques mean that a certain amount of time has to be allocated to identifying a product and purchasing it from a third party. "We will now be able to skip this phase by keeping a substantial stockholding in the new warehouse and simply shipping the parts, whenever and wherever our clients need them."
