British manufacturer Evance Wind Turbines has been listed for the first time in the prestigious Sunday Times league table that ranks Britain's top 100 private technology companies with the fastest-growing sales over the last three years.
The Loughborough-based company, ranked 14th in the Tech Track 100 national league table, clocked up annual sales growth of 144% over the period and put it in position as the highest placed UK manufacturer listed.
The company, which designs and manufactures small wind turbines, saw sales grow from £497,500 in 2009 to £7.3m in 2012, and recently signed an export agreement to take its product into Asia.
CEO Kevin Parslow said: "We believe we are a world-class manufacturer, and this ranking is testimony to the outstanding achievement of the Evance team."
"Unlike large scale wind turbines the R9000 is unobtrusive – no bigger than a mature tree – but makes a significant impact to energy savings. Our customers – who include home owners, farms and schools – usually install one or two small wind turbines, and some have replaced oil with wind power." Evance expects to install its 1,500th turbine next month.
