A UK-based manufacturing firm has become the latest member of Made in Britain, celebrating its local production line, and its support of the British economy and workforce.

Eviosys Becomes a Member of Made in Britain

Eviosys - a Sonoco company, an international metal packaging manufacturer with more than 26 billion products sold annually and a two-century-long history, cemented its position as a champion of local industry by becoming a member of Made in Britain — the United Kingdom’s official manufacturing trademark.

Membership Benefits of Made in Britain

Membership at Made in Britain is ever-growing in popularity, with over 2,100 businesses across a range of industries joining the project since its inception. It allows companies to display the official Made in Britain trademark logo and differentiate truly British products from those manufactured elsewhere.

As well as highlighting the locality of your business, membership to Made in Britain connects businesses to a raft of fellow industry professionals, all aligned in their missions of growth, sustainability, and ambition. It is as much a networking opportunity as it is a badge of honour on a business’ products.

Eviosys Celebrates Over 100 Years of UK Manufacturing

It is a significant move for Eviosys - a Sonoco company, spanning over 100 years of history, and seven sites across the United Kingdom, as it looks to champion local supply and business.

Claire Clarke, UK Sales Development Manager at Eviosys - a Sonoco Company, said: “We are very proud to be both a global actor and a local partner for our clients, and we’ve been manufacturing in the UK for more than 100 years.
“There aren’t so many metal manufacturers in the UK and packaging is still often imported, so we’re proud to be offering a more sustainable solution that supports the local economy. We have very good local expertise here and it means that we can manufacture packaging much closer to our UK customers, reducing emissions from transportation.
“When the customer chooses Eviosys, they choose to have a preference for local manufacturing and to protect the local economy, to protect local employment and the local expertise.”

Made in Britain as a Badge of Honour

Made in Britain CEO, John Pearce, said: “The truly world-class standards shown by Eviosys are what Made in Britain is all about. Welcoming a company of their stature will only serve to bolster our mission to champion elite manufacturing at a local level. The use of our trademark gives a very clear signal to manufacturers looking for locally made packaging that Eviosys - as part of Sonoco - really is worthy of the Made in Britain trademark.”

Supporting UK Manufacturing Growth

Since forming as a not-for-profit organisation in 2013, Made in Britain has grown into the premier trademark for homegrown manufacturing here in the UK, offering support to its members with expert guidance, networking, and sustainability tools to help measure a company’s impact — both environmentally and ethically.

As well as this, the organisation works alongside government bodies to help drive economic growth, create and protect jobs, and strengthen the UK’s manufacturing industry.
