This tailored approach can easily trick even the most careful employee into opening files and becoming a ‘Trojaner’, warns manufacturing security systems developer Innominate. “Hackers are getting more and more sophisticated and these figures just highlight the need for a structured approach to security that leaves no loopholes,” insists Dr Lutz Jaenicke, chief technical officer at Innominate. “Everyone is a target, and with social networking sites, such as Facebook, more and more data is available for the well organised hacker. We recommend an integrated approach that not only takes into account the office network, but also the industrial network, which is often neglected in terms of security.”
