Steve Spencer has been working with conveyor and automation solutions for nearly 20 years and joins the team following a 11-year stint as Sales Director at Arnott Conveyors Ltd. At LAC, he will be responsible for helping to continue to grow its reputation and client base within the food and drink sector. The business already works with several clients in this space including Coca-Cola, Greggs, Nestle and Walkers Crisps
The company continues to grow organically as a result of its closer partnerships with new and existing clients and it’s clear that investment in UK manufacturing continues to gather momentum within certain sectors despite the proposed implications of Brexit and the recent demise of British Steel.
Commenting on his appointment, Steve said: “I’m delighted to be joining the team at LAC during such a pivotal time for our sector. The UK is still some way behind our European counterparts with the uptake of robotic and automation solutions within manufacturing and a lot of my work will be helping to address this balance. I have always been impressed with the company’s investment and development of these type of solutions and the time was right to become part of its team and the plans for the future.
“We need to help companies understand the benefits and offer the right support and solutions to help increase UK productivity levels to a greater position than they are at present. This can only strengthen and benefit the UK in the times ahead.”
Chris Unwin, CEO at LAC Conveyors and Automation, adds: “Steve brings with him a wealth of experience within the conveyors and automation sector and will be a really important asset in our team as we push to continue the high levels of growth we have achieved over the past year and a half.
“The food and drink sector is an area that continues to be impacted by inefficient production and development processes with automation often being a key driver to success. I look forward to seeing how companies harness the power of automation to deliver cost savings and productivity improvements to customers.”
