As one of the smallest and most popular cars in the Italian automaker's lineup, the Panda has long been a favourite for its efficient and affordable transportation, often ranking among the cheapest cars available in the UK, with recent models priced under £15,000.
Fiat is now phasing out the Panda to make way for the upcoming Grande Panda, a compact SUV that will offer both hybrid and electric powertrain options.
In a statement, a Fiat spokesperson said: “In readiness for the launch of new Grande Panda, which will arrive in showrooms early in the new year, orders for current Panda in the UK will now be satisfied from existing stock.
“As announced earlier in the year, Panda will continue in the rest of Europe as Fiat Pandina special series and still be produced at the Italian plant of Pomigliano d’Arco at least until 2027.”
Grande Panda
The upcoming Grande Panda will significantly differ from its predecessor, though it will maintain a similar compact design, measuring under four metres in length.
The new model features the same robust, chunky appearance as the original, along with practical roof rails for mounting roof boxes and other accessories.
It is expected to hit the UK market this December.
