The EU-funded ROBOTT-NET Voucher Programme has awarded its final round of vouchers to Automata Technologies, Hexagon Metrology, Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK) and Russell Finex. A total of 64 vouchers have been given out via the programme, which entitle recipients to receive highly specialised consultancy from a broad field of the brightest robotics experts across Europe.
Over 160 firms from 12 European countries applied for a voucher from the European robotic technology transfer network, which is a collaboration between the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry, the Danish Technological Institute (DTI), Fraunhofer IPA from Germany and Tecnalia from Spain.
Businesses including SMEs, large companies and institutions were able to apply for a voucher. From the winning 64 companies, eight will be selected for further assistance and funding towards a pilot project to turn their vision into reality.
“With the announcement of the final 25 vouchers in the ROBOTT-NET programme, the MTC is now working with a number of UK companies to develop their robot technologies and applications to allow them to grow their competitive position,” said Jeremy Hadall, chief technologist in robotics and automation at the MTC. “This is great news for the UK economy as these technologies will increase productivity and jobs and have the potential to grow market share both locally and internationally.”
One aim of ROBOTT-NET is to strengthen technology transfer between research and technology organisations and the wider European manufacturing industry. To assist with this, all the partners in the programme will be running courses for industry management to help participants make strategic decisions and investment in technology.
The MTC will be hosting a ROBOTT-NET course on 24-25 April.
