Finsbury ‘happy with progress’

The cake, bread and gluten free bakery goods manufacturer Finsbury Food Group reported today (30 November) that recent initiatives had enabled it to take advantage of growth opportunities and deliver a reduction in costs as it continued to navigate its way through difficult trading conditions and a marked increases in commodity prices.

In a trading update, chief executive John Duffy said he was happy with the group's progress given the tough economic conditions. The bread and 'free from' division had continued to achieve strong, organic growth through the introduction of innovative fresh gluten free bread ranges, while the larger cake division had now returned to growth following last year's decline.
