ERP developer Infor is one of the first software vendors to integrate support for CINDI (Common Identification Number for Delivery Improvement) procurement at Renault.
Following first validation in July last year, it’s now standard functionality on Infor’s ERP Xpert and its earlier Infor ERP XPPS as well as Infor CRM ACmanager (Automotive Customer Manager), all built for automotive suppliers.
Renault’s new process, which uses RANs (release authorisation numbers) for synchronising orders, has been mandatory since 2006 for suppliers in contract with two particular production plants.
Now, however, CINDI is entering the final rollout phase, and by this spring the process will be deployed across all Renault plants – meaning around 1,000 suppliers will have to adopt the new format.
Hausach, Baden-Württemberg-based automotive transmissions, drivelines, chassis and safety fasteners supplier Neumayer Tekfor has already been validated – all the way from the order receipt to material provision and shipment with all associated EDI processes.
Infor says that by using its implementations, it is now possible to prepare all internal and external documents such that both the suppliers and Renault can process workflows optimally.
Changes extend from material tags to the packing slips and picking lists through to the GALIA delivery note along with the associated EDI notification. Special attention has also been paid to the implementation of scanner-assisted processes.
