Manor Bakeries in London, which supplies to a wide range of retail outlets, reckons it’s achieved return on investment (ROI) in just five weeks for an integration project. Manor needed to be able to issue single invoices to customers using data from multiple delivery orders, where previously multiple invoices would have been generated. The requirement was specified by customers: failure to comply would have resulted in a significant charge. The firm used iWork’s integration software tools, and the bakery says it’s effectively achieved almost immediate cost savings – shattering the reputation of some integration projects as disasters for near- to medium-term ROI. “We were thrilled to find the software did exactly what it says on the box,” says Shirley Carpenter, business solutions development manager from Manor. “It was no surprise to see how quickly we could leverage our new investment to solve a business problem previously irresolvable for more than two years.” She adds: “With two days of education and two weeks development, testing and deployment, we were able to deliver this project, avoiding significant penalty payments that we previously encountered.” She says she expects further savings well into the future through “greater corporate agility and a rapid way of delivering our business driven projects. From week to week we see even greater flexibility of the product. “Recognising that the greatest limitation we have is the time to evaluate just how many projects could benefit from this, I can confidently say this was one investment surely worth making.”
