Focusing on its protection and defence business alongside its dairy operations has helped Avon Rubber build on the turnaround it achieved in 2009, the company said today (24 November).
Commenting on annual results for the year ended 30 September, chief executive Peter Slabbert said: "Our strategy of remaining focused on both our rapidly growing Protection & Defence business and our more mature but high margin and cash generative Dairy business has proved successful. We expect the progress made in 2010 to continue and for operating margins to improve. Further penetration of our current and new markets and the introduction of new products will lay the foundation for additional growth."
Avon Rubber's modern day business concerns the manufacture of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear respiratory protection solutions and it also owns a dairy business manufacturing liners and tubing for automated milking.
Revenues for the year grew by 17% to £117.6m while pre-tax profit grew from £4.4m to £7.1m.
