The Fork Lift Truck Association has produced a booklet which defines the term 'fair wear and tear' in relation to forklift truck hire.
The 32-page guide, entitled 'Fair Wear and Tear?', explains to hire customers – and their dealers – what is and isn't acceptable as wear and tear when a truck is returned at the end of a hire period. It also advises on next steps to take should an end-of-contract dispute arise.
More than 50 real-life examples are used to help illustrate the types of damage which are unacceptable, such as damaged tyres, torn canopies and buckled backrests.
Don't miss this month's issue of WM in which we uncover the true cost of forklift truck damage.
