Foundry set to fire up improvements with Syspro ERP

Chamberlin & Hill Castings, which specialises in complex iron castings and engineered products, expects new manufacturing operations visibility – the result of ditching an earlier system with manual spreadsheet workarounds – to deliver a clear view of processes, procedures and thus also the costs. Says Mark Hotchin, financial director at C&H Castings: "K3 has listened carefully to our requirements and is tailoring the new system to meet our needs. This will allow us to see and monitor every area of the business at the touch of a button. We'll have much greater visibility from works order right through to finished product and despatch." K3 is configuring the system to focus on manufacturing and accounting. Hotchin says the aim is to help align its moulding and melting processes. "This is extremely important as any misalignment can result in scrap metal. The new system will also deliver improved inventory management and a clear picture of the materials we require and when they are needed. As an additional benefit, we are expecting Syspro to help us expedite estimating and job costing," he says.
