The Uxbridge-based SME, FSL Aerospace, has announced that it is to boost its growth plans by introducing a structured HR and people development system in pursuit of a coveted SC21 aerospace supply chain excellence Silver award for quality and delivery performance.
The company was awarded the bronze level at last week's Farnborough Airshow.
The new HR system will be based around company values, business goals and priorities and includes job descriptions, skills matrices, assessment plans, a revised induction programme, personal development plans, training plans and 360o appraisals.
Company director Neil Broad said that as a leading aerospace and defence fastener supplier FSL had ambitious plans for further growth in key projects with the industry's OEMs and tier 1 suppliers. He continued: "So to gain increased recognition for our consistently high levels of quality and delivery performance, we have embarked on SC21 which also requires excellence in both operational and business performance.
"Now we have achieved SC21 Bronze Award recognition at the 2012 Farnborough Air Show, we need to strive to reach the Silver award and ultimately beyond that achievement to have embedded a culture of continuous and sustained improvement. To enable this to happen FSL Aerospace needs to ensure that we have structured HR processes and people development systems that are in line with our growth plans."
Established in 1985, the 21 employee-company counts businesses like GE Aviation, MBDA Missile Systems and Meggitt Group among its customers.
FSL said that by engaging with the sector skills council Semta as an outsourced HR function, it now had a robust plan to deliver the training, processes, systems and documentation needed for future growth.
