The Works Management-run event offers insight into three main streams of running a successful site: safety, maintenance and continuous improvement. Alan Craddock from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) will deliver the keynote address for the safety stream, covering topics including respiratory and manual handling injuries.
Neil Geldard-Williams of GKN Driveline provides the keynote address for the CI stream, explaining how visual management and line-side problem-solving are winning impressive productivity gains at its Birmingham factory.
The maintenance stream will begin with keynote speaker David Baglee of the University of Sunderland revealing how condition monitoring techniques and picture-led SOPs cut downtime by 75% at whisky giant, Glenmorangie. EMS Cognito will then provide examples of real-world applications of RCM teachings that have reduced total maintenance spend.
The second day of the conference will include factory tours of some of the top sites in the area, including, Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles and Weetabix, where the theory learned on day one can be seen in action.
Bookings for the two-day conference are now open, and all attendees will also be invited to the gala dinner at the end of the first day. Former England and Leicester rugby player and coach Graham Rowntree will deliver the after-dinner address.
