Mid market manufacturing ERP developer Geac has extended its 20 year relationship with IBM by becoming part of its Advantage Initiative for independent software vendors (ISVs).
The programme is designed to provide ISVs with technical and marketing support to help meet the business IT needs of SMEs. Geac’s participation will help to ensure that users of Geac’s new System21 Aurora suite, which is built on IBM middleware and runs on AS/400 (iSeries) get full support as they move towards collaborative commerce solutions.
Richard Smith, VP of operations for Geac System21 worldwide, says: “Our customers require better integrated processes and applications both internally and externally to allow them to quickly respond to changing market opportunities on demand.
“This is why we launched System21 Aurora, our next generation ERP system with real-time business process management capabilities… System21 Aurora exploits the IBM WebSphere J2EE component model and many of IBM’s WebSphere products, such as WebSphere MQ Integrator Broker.
“As a result of the new initiative, our customers will benefit from access to IBM’s open standards-based middleware to allow integration with existing software and hardware platforms.”
