GXS in the UK has launched a major refresh of its EDI Basics web site, which provides information, practical advice and multimedia content for anyone setting up and managing B2B electronic trading networks.
EDI Basics includes documented benefits of electronic trading which can be used to build a business case justification for e-commerce as well as a methodology for implementing EDI in a supply chain community.
A feature of the new site is the EDI Community, which allows visitors to pool their expertise and help each other to solve problems.
A visitor can ask questions, suggest answers, contribute insights and share experiences. The community is also open to all visitors and not limited to GXS customers.
GXS points to a recent survey of 300 IT professionals, which found that 95% of users still use comparatively unsophisticated tools, such as spreadsheets for some or all of their B2B transactions.
This, says the firm, highlights a requirement for greater use of electronic trading across a wide range of companies and industries.
Since its launch in 2006, the site has seen a 278 percent increase in traffic and is now the top ranking EDI site for organic searches on Google.
