Halon Virtual Spam Prevention has taken the 'Best In Test Award' for enterprise spam filtering solutions, in a comparative review by Swedish IT-professionals magazine Techworld.

Commenting on the software's success against players like Microsoft, Symantec and WatchGuard, Peter Falck, president and founder of Swedish firm Halon Security says: "We are immensely pleased and proud of the outcome." And he adds: "Once again, it shows that a product developed in Sweden can compete with the big guns on the market, and it shows that our investment in innovation and design really pays off." The Techworld review found that Halon Virtual Spam Prevention (VSP) was the best in class for email containing spam, malware, viruses and phising attempts. The management of content flows was also easy to understand. Enterprise scale users include Swedish web hosting provider Binero and APNIC, the Asian/Pacific equivalent of RIPE. VSP runs in a virtualised environment such as VMware vSphere or XenServer, making it portable and scalable, and Falck claims that it can be deployed within 30 minutes.
