Hitachi Cable UK is to implement an Impact Encore v5.1 ERP system for its Ebbw Vale, South Wales factory, with integrated automotive EDI.
The firm expects to improve management of multiple JIT (just in time) deliveries of its high pressure cable assemblies for brake and power systems to the Nissan plant in Sunderland, as well as to Honda in Swindon.
The order, the fifth major contract for Syspro Impact VAR McGuffie Brunton this year, also means that McGuffie is now set to achieve more than 15% growth this year – seriously bucking the trend of flat or negative growth for ERP software vendors.
The software will cover manufacturing, distribution and financials. Howard Joseph, McGuffie sales director, says: “The EDI solution for Hitachi Cable is typical of the progress we have made. As a result of recent software developments within IMPACT, and our purchase of other integrated software applications … we can now handle a wider range of IT needs.”
