Enterprise software firm IFS is partnering with IT services company Tata Consultancy Services to provide enterprise asset management (EAM) and service management for its clients.
IFS says the alliance has been driven by global companies’ demands for a more agile approach to implementing IT projects – particularly in IFS’ heartland, project-driven manufacturing, chemicals, energy, utilities, telecom, oil and gas industries, where consolidation is rife.
Tata, which is currently building a centre of excellence in Pune, India, to deliver consultancy on IFS’ solutions, will provide implementation and ongoing support. This will include IT maintenance and integration, project management and reengineering.
“The partnership with TCS will enhance our ability to service our global customer base effectively, and provide them with a high level of support,” says Alastair Sorbie, CEO of IFS. “It is also an opportunity for us to generate new business in key project-driven industries.
“TCS is a global company with a global network delivery model. Working with them means we’ll be better able to deliver cost-effective solutions that help customers get the benefits from our component-based software as fast as possible.”
