Canadian clean power generator Brookfield Renewable Power says it is implementing IFS Applications to streamline business processes across Canada, the US and Brazil.
"Our current enterprise solution was too restrictive to support our … plans for growth," says Kevin Hall, Brookfield CIO. "We needed to look for a new solution, one that was more focused on EAM [enterprise asset management] and had a strong financial suite. IFS offered the best integrated solution we could find, with best of breed maintenance solutions."
Brookfield is going for IFS Financials, Distribution, Maintenance, Project Management, Document Management and HR.
IFS makes the point that the energy and utilities industry is one of its key sectors, with more than 140 customers involved in power generation, transmission and distribution under its belt.
These include the world's largest hydropower plant, Three Gorges in the China, nuclear power plants OKG in Sweden, PBMR, South Africa, and Qinshan, China, and grid operators such as Svenska Kraftnät, Sweden, Statnett, Norway, and TenneT, The Netherlands as well as distributors such as Vattenfall, Sweden and Hafslund, Norway.
