Reabrook Ltd, which employs 280 people at its facility near Ashby-de-la-Zouch, won the Sustainability Award from the British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA), beating 80 other firms to the prize.
The judges were impressed by the company’s innovative range of compressed air aerosols targeted at industry under its Arrow Solutions brand. The PBCA technology is designed to replace traditional propellants such as butane and propane, offering a significant reduction in carbon dioxide. Over 140,000 aerosols have been sold since their introduction, to a range of customers in markets including aerospace, rail and the MoD.
Reabrook are the only company in the world able to offer compressed air aerosols for the rail market. The technology is ideal for cleaning electrical and mechanical components, and has also been used in aeroplane engine component cleaning and component corrosion protection.
“We take our commitment to social and environmental responsibility seriously,” said Jonathan Lane, sales director of Arrow Solutions. “In place of using traditional flammable or high Global Warming Potential propellants, many of our Arrow-branded aerosols are simply powered by compressed air.
“By removing CO2 and LPG as propellants and replacing them with air that has been compressed, we are able to offer our clients a giant step forward in their desire to deliver a sustainable future.”
Tom Brealey, managing director of Reabrook, said: “The BAMA award is great recognition for the innovation that we are continually looking to provide.”
