Users can use a common smartphone QR-reader app to scan the QR-code on the part to instantly display the corresponding e-chain online.
Then, once online, the user has the ability to identify the part, check pricing and select to order. General information about the e-chain, including CAD drawings, is also available, as well a step-by-step assembly instructions and videos.
Explains igus director Justin Leonard: “For maintenance engineers who work with a lot of different energy chain systems or designers with a product sample on their desk, instant access to all the relevant information available on the individual component or the particular e-chain system is crucial. By integrating a QR-code on the side parts and crossbars, igus simplifies this process by directing users to the e-chain system’s online portal.”
QR-codes are currently being integrated on parts in the E4.1L system. Further e-chain systems will follow through the year.
