Businesses can boost their chances of success by taking part in UK Trade & Investment's International Month in March 2007.
UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) South West is co-ordinating a month-long series of activities during March 2007, which will educate businesses about developing into overseas markets.
International Month, which is being run right across the South of England in partnership with UKTI South East and UKTI London, will give businesses of all types and size the opportunity to look into how to get started with exporting or develop existing trade. It follows the success of the 2006 International Month held in the South East region.
Seminars, gameshow style events, market visits, inward missions and roadshows will all feature in the action-packed month of activity. International Month will also drive home the messages of UKTI's five-year strategy 'Prosperity in a Changing World'.
Events in Bristol and Bath include:
* An ‘Engineering Game Regional Roadshow’ in Bristol – a quirky gameshow format event to inform of the engineering opportunities in China, India and Brazil
* UKTI/HM Revenue & Customs seminar in Bristol to explore the taxation aspects of overseas trade
* ‘Addressing the Barriers’ – a seminar to offer expert advice on overcoming the barriers associated with trade with China
* A Bristol seminar looking at product liability in the USA – jointly organised with the British American Business Council
* Doing Business in Russia – a seminar in Bradford-on-Avon jointly run with Wessex International Network looking at exports to this emerging market
In addition to these events, there is a whole host of activities being organised across the rest of the Southern region, as well as a number of subsidised market visits. Details and dates of all events can be found at http://www.uktradeinvest.gov.uk/ukti/south_west and for events in the South East on http://www.uktisoutheast.com/internationalmonth.
