Manufacturing business application software giant Infor says its Infor ION technology is now its top selling and fastest growth product ever.
More than 900 organisations in 59 countries have now purchased the ION suite, which acts as a lightweight middleware, enabling flexible integration for operational, front office and back office systems.
Uptake has been so great, says the company, that it has now hired ex Oracle industry veteran Steve Moroski as senior vice president of Platform Technologies for Infor.
Users trotted out to comment by Infor certainly seem enthusiastic.
"If you don't have a tool like ION in your organisation, you're limiting what you can buy and the money you'll spend to develop interfaces between systems," comments Kendal Phipps, senior systems analyst at Pride Industries, for example.
"Having the right tools in the toolbox is essential for our business to grow and to deal with issues. We don't want to turn away a $20 million a year contract, because we can't handle the 'X' amount of documents, or can't interface to the customer's system. So this gives us that confidence to say, 'Yeah, we can do it'."
And Brewster Dairy, which manufactures cheese and used ION to integrate its Infor ERP and asset management systems in 2011, has received widespread industry recognition for its advanced use of technology to improve performance.
"The strong momentum Infor is experiencing for ION ... is a testament to the benefits of simple, lightweight middleware built on open standards," comments Stephan Scholl, president of Infor.
