The event on 13-14 June at Worsley Park hotel, Manchester, will debate Industry 4.0 and how UK site managers combine people, process and plant to achieve manufacturing excellence.
The conference’s factory tour programme will give delegates the opportunity to see future factory technologies in action, as well as witnessing advanced people and process management techniques.
BAE Systems’ Samlesbury facility features a 3D test cave. The facility is being used to train apprentices on the maintenance and assembly of Typhoon jets.
JLR’s Halewood plant was one of the UK’s most productive sites in 2016, according to SMMT figures published last month. Delegates will be invited to go lineside and see how JLR has deployed lean manufacturing and employee engagement to meet year on year surges in production volumes.
Robinsons Brewery in Stockport and Newsprinters’ plant in Knowsley have also been added to the bill at MMC.
Each delegate can pick from one of five factory tours. Attendees will also enjoy full access to keynote conference presentations and a choice of deep-dive learning workshops exploring the people, process and plant themes.
Topics will include team leadership, proactive maintenance methodologies, Six Sigma, 5S, robotics/AI and many more.
WM group editor, Max Gosney, said: “This is an event steeped in the lean principle of gemba or ‘go-see’. We hope that by transporting our delegates out of the conference centre and onto the line, we bring a new perspective to everyday production problems and an improvement idea they can implement back at their own site.”
Tickets are priced at an early bird rate of £695 until 28 April (£795 thereafter) and include 3-course dinner, drinks reception and one night’s accommodation at the 4* Worsley Park hotel.
