The countdown is on for the 'warts and all' British Manufacturing IT business transformation conference at Haydock Park, near Liverpool, which opens its doors on 26 September.

Delegates will hear in-depth lean business improvement stories achieved using modern IT across manufacturing, engineering development and business operations from 20 manufacturers – including Stadco, Lotus, Bentley, Red Bull Racing, Cadbury Schweppes, Diageo, Sony, Stannah Lifts, Worldmark, Unipart and Deltron-Emcon. The event is for operations directors and directors and managers of finance, IT, production, purchasing and design – manufacturing business management teams wanting real advice on how to drive maximum sustainable business improvement. Martin Blackburn, group IT manager at Magal Engineering, will tell delegates how to get ERP systems in, up and running for less than £50,000 each, including licences, infrastructure, configuration and implementation. And that’s for systems designed to underpin the group’s lean manufacturing and inventory reduction initiatives. Tim Langlois, Cadbury Schweppes’ business integration manager, will tell delegates the behind the scenes story around the company’s SAP and e-business roll-out, and the most recent Lawson ERP implementation at its Monkhill Confectionery site. And David Lloyd, Stadco Group IT Director, will explain how his company implemented widespread real-time shop floor data collection, developed and deployed a voice-controlled warehouse system and implemented its chosen ERP system at 17 sites in the last 10 years – with the fastest implementation taking less than a week. In all, the event will play host to 20 case study presentations with extensive Q and A in eight streams, covering automotive, automotive supply, parts & components, the process sector, project engineering, electronics/high tech, electro-mechanical and configure to order manufacturing.
