K3 goes for Freeway Commerce as EDI partner

ERP software developer K3 is partnering with Freeway Commerce to deliver seamless integration of scaleable EDI (electronic data interchange) and web trading with its Microsoft-based systems.

The two companies serve mutual clients in the retail, food service and licensed trades sectors, and K3 appears to be hoping this start will kick start it in the distribution and manufacturing sectors it services. K3 claims that the new partnership allows the company to offer EDI as an enhanced offering to customers, enabling them to automate many business processes and benefit from time savings and accuracy in document processing. Spectrum 3 integrates directly with K3’s back office solutions, includingr finance, order processing, human resources, payroll, point of sale and merchandising based on Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision). Using the system, information can be exchanged securely and quickly between customers and their supplier community from the application databases using EDI.
