Since 2020, the partnership has provided support to thousands of people and communities worldwide, with a specific focus on tackling hunger and malnutrition in Gujarat, India. This partnership has helped address challenges by supporting efforts to improve maternal and child health in vulnerable communities.

The partnership has turned €0.20 from each pot of forgotten ends and every veggie menu item into vital funding to fight hunger, with the proceeds donated directly to the charity.

This collective effort has helped saved over 22,000 lives from life-threatening malnutrition, improved the health and nutrition of 150,000 children under three, provided maternal and child nutrition guidance to 100,000 pregnant women, and trained and upskilled 4,000 healthcare workers.

Action Against Hunger was also recognised by the local government and invited to train over 53,000 frontline workers in Gujarat on breastfeeding.

“Growing up in rural South Korea, I experienced food insecurity first-hand, and those experiences shaped my commitment to fighting hunger. As a result, our partnership with Action Against Hunger is personally significant to me, and it’s been incredibly meaningful to see how the support of our customers is helping to save lives and support communities around the world,” said Kelly Choi, Founder of KellyDeli.

WKellyDeli and Action Against Hunger are now setting their sights on raising €2 million by 2028. The next chapter of this partnership will focus on South Sudan, where an estimated 6.3 million people are facing crisis-level hunger or worse.

The Rice Farming Project will empower 400 local farmers to transform flooded lands into a source of sustenance and income.

Farmers will be trained in rice cultivation and provided with seeds, tools, and equipment to ensure success. Within two years, these farmers will achieve self-reliance, improve nutrition for their families, and build lasting livelihoods.

“We’re incredibly proud to partner with KellyDeli, whose passion and commitment to fighting hunger has been nothing short of extraordinary.” said Alison McNulty, Director of Operations at Action Against Hunger UK. “Their support has enabled us to provide crucial nutrition, healthcare, and training to some of the world’s most vulnerable communities, saving thousands of lives along the way.”

“As we extend this partnership, the focus on South Sudan is more critical than ever. Millions are facing crisis levels of hunger due to climate-related disasters, and initiatives like the Rice Farming Project can offer a sustainable pathway to resilience. Together, we can empower communities to secure their futures.”
