Simulation specialist Lanner has launched a new version of its software which, it says, delivers greater reality to simulations, improved efficiency and greater ease of use.
Dubbed L-SIM2, the new software features a raft of new capabilities, with new events, activities and gateways to support the latest business process modelling notation (BPMN) standards.
Lanner CEO David Jones explains that the firm's new Optimizer works as an intelligent helper to find the best business outcomes, while its Experimentation Framework delivers simulation as a RESTful web service.
Says Jones: "Organisations involved in BPM know that the earlier they use simulation, the greater the benefits. L-SIM 2 brings complex business processes to life on the screen, demonstrating to users the cost savings and risk reductions that any given process change will bring."
He adds that the use of advanced optimisation to explore the problem and find the best business outcomes offers "incredible flexibility and confidence to an organisation".
IDS Scheer is the first of Lanner's global partners to take delivery of L-SIM 2, and says it has specific plans to exploit the new capabilities. Karl Wagner, senior vice-president, ARIS, IDS Scheer: "You cannot control the future but you can predict the impact of decisions and changes in the real world.
"Simulation and optimisation mean better decision making because you can explore alternative outcomes before you make the actual change."
