Leicester SPS Technologies strikes called off

Strikes by almost 200 Leicester SPS Technologies workers have been called off after Unite, a UK-based trade unions, secured an improved offer, Insider Media reported.

The workers, who produce specialist nuts, bolts and pins for the aerospace and defence sectors accepted the two-year 8% pay deal.

The 200 workers will receive 5% for 2024, and 3% for 2025, as well improvements to annual leave and time off for medical appointments.

The all out indefinite strike was expected to take place on 21st August, but negotiations with Unite and SPS meant the dispute was settled without industrial action occurring.
