Classic motorcycle spares manufacturer LF Harris says that its Opera 3 accounting software upgrade has already resulted in better decision making and customer service.
Shirley Harris, managing director and co-founder of the Torquay-based company, says that business processes have also improved, giving the example of payroll processing, which has been cut from half a day to half an hour.
"As well as streamlining business processes, Opera 3 provides me with the real-time, accurate information I need to decide how best to drive the business forward," states Harris.
"As such, Opera 3 has become the backbone of our company and is fundamental to how we operate," she adds.
Harris explains, for example, that, by linking Opera 3 to stock control processes, sales teams can now accurately inform customers of expected delivery times. Additionally, back order processes are now automated, making it easier to fulfil orders and notify customers.
Similarly, the software provides an overview of how the business is running – with historical customer and supplier records easy to access, enabling any issues to be quickly identified and addressed, she says.
"I'm not an accountant but I need to access financial information in a user friendly manner," states Harris. "Opera 3 is easy to use, particularly as it has the same look and feel as Microsoft Windows."
The software upgrade was managed by Pegasus solutions partner Applied Business Solutions.
LF Harris has been operating for almost 40 years, employs 15 people and supplies around 5000 parts for Triumph, BSA and Norton motorcycles, dating as far back as 1938, to over 250 customers around the world.
