Having outgrown its Leeds premises, specialist lighting manufacturer Harvard Engineering has moved its headquarters and manufacturing facility to a new purpose-built building at nearby Normanton, Yorkshire.
The company has seen employee numbers grow from 100 at the end of 2009 to 170 today.
Harvard – which has built up a substantial client portfolio, working with local authorities and blue chip companies – developed the Leafnut system (pictured in Westminster, London) which enables remote dimming for street lighting, cutting carbon production by 50%. It is also a leader in the field of LED technology, reducing energy costs and cutting carbon emissions in a wide range of indoor and outdoor lighting installations.
Commenting on the move which was supported by Barclays Corporate with £650,000 funding, managing director John McDonnell said the new premises would offer significantly enhanced purpose built facilities. "I have been delighted that we have been able to move our business to this landmark site in a key regeneration area for Yorkshire," he added.
