Maintenance management goes mobile

Mobile engineers and contractors can now update work order information and time sheets without returning to the office, following the introduction of maintenance software firm SoftSols’ Agility Mobile Expert. An extension of the firm’s browser-based maintenance management tool, it’s aimed at service and contract providers, enabling them to control costs, track work better and maximise productivity. Users can see the status of each engineer at a glance and allocate work orders on the fly, sending them directly to appropriately skilled technicians via PDA. Says managing director David Hipkin: “Service level agreements can be met quickly, with engineers able to complete more jobs in their working day. Agility reduces the need for manual input and subsequently decreases the costs associated with administration.” Pricing is £595 per user, web-browser or PDA.
