Britain's manufacturers have today (12 May) called for the new coalition government to make clear its strategy for creating a more balanced economy.
Following yesterday's announcement of the new power sharing deal at Westminster, manufacturers organisation EEF has urged the government to move swiftly to set out a credible plan for reducing the public sector deficit and vision for creating a new economic model with a stronger role for manufacturing.
EEF Chief Executive, Terry Scuoler (pictured), commented: "Industry will be relieved that the uncertainty of the last few days is behind us. But now it needs to see clarity from government on how it will tackle the big issues such as reducing the deficit and rebalancing the economy."
