Manufacturing companies in the South East are being invited to benefit from a new 'Challenge China' Programme being offered by the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) South East in partnership with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI).
The Challenge China – Advanced Manufacturing two-stage programme has been developed to help manufacturers increase their global competitive advantage and aspire to meet and exceed the challenges and opportunities available in China and beyond.
MAS south east network manager Mark Knowlton said: "Manufacturers need to start changing their perspective on the global market and discover how international competitive manufacturing can be sustained in the UK whilst expanding export sales."
The programme will focus on the comparatives between China and the UK manufacturing industry using benchmarks for quality and innovation, effectively demonstrating how UK manufacturers can win new business in China and in other leading global markets.
To learn about the programme, MAS South East and UKTI are offering a number of free 'Find out More' workshops:
2 March 2010, Solent Hotel, Whiteley, Hampshire
3 March 2010, Holiday Inn, Oxford
10 March 2010, Holiday Inn, Guildford, Surrey
11 March 2010, Holiday Inn, Wrotham, Kent
Each workshop will provide information on how to enhance global competitiveness, hone manufacturing and management capabilities and optimise supply chain and environmental performance, whilst advising on how to enter the Chinese market with confidence and how to meet and engage with potential buyers, suppliers and partners. Plans will also be detailed on a tailored and sector focused visit to China for participants to meet selected decision makers and partners.
As part of the programme, MAS South East can provide a free manufacturing review to individual manufacturing companies with action plan alongside tailored subsidised consultancy of up to five days.
