The new level seven programme will be open to employees from large businesses under the Apprenticeship Levy and SME employees.
Neil Ralph (pictured), director of degree apprenticeships at Lancaster University Management School, said: “This fantastic programme gives people an opportunity to combine academic and vocational learning. It is perfect for practicing managers to underpin their experience with a Masters degree from one of the top 10 universities in the UK.
“This is about strengthening the partnership between Lancaster University and The Manufacturing Institute in delivering this exciting new programme. We are very proud to be leading the way in offering masters level apprenticeships.”
The programme is due to begin in October. It will be taught through block release and evening tuition, and have a focus on applying workplace learning.
Mark Leeson, operations director for The Manufacturing Institute, said: “We’ve had a long and successful relationship with Lancaster University Management School and we’re delighted to be working with them on this new programme under the Apprenticeship Levy.
“It opens the door to middle and senior manufacturing leaders to apply their learning back in the workplace which can only be good for the whole sector.”
