The two-day show, held on 13-14 June at Worsley Park in Manchester, promises to help delegates start creating the smart factory of tomorrow, today.
Brian Holliday, MD of digital factory at Siemens, will kick off the MMC keynote conference sessions by looking at the impact of the government’s recent Industrial Strategy on the future of manufacturing.
Following this, Mike Wilson, chairman of the British Automation and Robotics Association will explore how humans and robots will interact in the future, and how they can collaborate to maximise productivity.
BAE Systems have spent nearly £16m on a new high-tech training academy in Samlesbury, near Preston. Damian Adams, BAE programme delivery manager, will tell delegates how technology including a virtual reality cave and 3D printers are revolutionising the way the company trains its staff and the next generation of engineers.
To round off the keynote sessions, Dave Adams, corporate business manager at British Gas, will be exploring how technology can be maximised by manufacturers looking to save money on their energy bills.
Delegates will then get to visit one of four leading sites in the Manchester area, to see first-hand manufacturing best practice. The sites include:

- -Frederic Robinson, Stockport
- -Newsprinters, Knowsley
Day one will conclude with a three-course dinner and entertainment, with the opportunity to network with fellow delegates and unwind.
The second day sees delegates split into groups for a number of hands-on interactive workshops focusing on the ‘3Ps’: Plant, Process and People. Topics including Six Sigma, employee engagement and CI will be explored in innovative and creative ways by a number of industry experts.
