The green paper aims to improve living standards and economic growth by increasing productivity and driving growth across the country through ’10 strategic pillars’.
The 10 strategic pillars are:
- Investing in science, research and innovation
- Developing skills
- Upgrading infrastructure
- Supporting businesses to start and grow
- Improving procurement
- Encouraging trade and inward investment policy
- Delivering affordable energy and clean growth
- Cultivating world-leading sectors
- Driving growth across the whole country
- Creating the right institutions to bring together sectors and place
The government has said that the strategy forms a vital part of the “Plan for Britain” that was set out by Prime Minister Theresa May in January. It is seeking views on its approach to building the strategy with responses being accepted until Monday 17 April 2017 11:45 pm.
Responses to the green paper should be submitted using the CitizenSpace online consultation platform.
