Moss Plastic Parts ramps up seamless real-time Wan throughout Europe

Plastics manufacturer Moss Plastic Parts has implemented a WAN (wide area network) from SAS Group, linking three new offices in Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic to the company’s existing infrastructure, which spans 15 sites throughout Europe.

Moss says that the expanded network has already enabled its rapid expansion into emerging European markets – in particular streamlining communications and improving business efficiency. Moss, which has more than 10,000 standard lines on ex-stock delivery, makes the point that it is crucial to ensure that all sales and distribution centres can communicate and access up-to-date stock and delivery information in real time. The company says it chose SAS because, with limited IT professionals, it needed a partner it could trust not only to complete the installations in each country, but to provide ongoing support. With the installation of a BT MPLS (multi-protocol label switching) WAN to connect the new offices, the group has now linked all of Moss’ 18 sites and continues to provide 24/7 support. “Linking the three new offices into the company network was, and will continue to be, vital to our operating efficiency – and to our continued growth,” says Roger Mall, IT project manager at Moss Plastic Parts. “With only a small IT team in the UK, it simply would not have been feasible to get the sites up and running so quickly and easily without the help of a partner we could trust. The SAS group was, without doubt, the natural choice because of our longstanding relationship.”
