New consultant for The Manufacturing Institute

Merriman, a Six Sigma Lean Master Black Belt, has more than 25 years' experience in multiple manufacturing, service and IT industries, most of which have been in senior leadership positions at companies including Unisys, Sun Microsystems, and Honeywell. He said: "Starting work for the Manufacturing Institute feels like I am coming home. I'm very excited. One of my first jobs in manufacturing was spending a summer with an engineering company in Trafford Park, so it feels very familiar to me. It feels like a great fit." After completing a Masters in Manufacturing Engineering at Cambridge, Merriman started his career at Lucas Industries. He has experience of training and coaching individuals and teams in scientific thinking and continuous improvement methods. He has also led strategic Six Sigma and Lean deployments in manufacturing, IT and service organisations as a trainer, coach, champion and team member/leader.
