An easy-to-use, low cost solids modelling program, EdgeCAM part modeller, was launched this month by Reading-based design software specialist, Pathtrace, aimed at users of the EdgeCAM Solid Machinist software.
Developed in partnership with US-based design software vendor, Applied 3D Science, EdgeCAM part modeller has the ability to locate and present to users machineable elements through its automatic feature recognition and full component to toolpath associativity.
“This arrangement means we have a partner with specialised solid modelling expertise … And lets us focus on providing class-leading manufacturing technology,” comments Dave Boucher, Pathtrace’s R&D director.
