New manufacturing minister Michael Fallon will outline his blueprint to boost British industry at this Friday's Best Factory Awards in London.
The award marks one of Fallon's first public addresses since replacing Mark Prisk as minister of state for business and enterprise earlier this month.
The minister is set to expand on the government's commitment to develop a formal industrial strategy.
Fallon will also crown the winner of the Make it in Great Britain Challenge Award - a competition launched earlier this year to find the most innovative pre-market products, processes and concepts in the UK.
The award will prelude the Best Factory Awards ceremony, which also celebrates outstanding manufacturing standards among UK operators.
Fourteen factories will compete for prizes including the Skills Development award, Most Improved Plant prize and the coveted overall prize of Britain's Best Factory.
Tickets are still available for the Best Factory Awards on 28 September at the Park Lane Hotel, London.
The Best Factory Awards are now in their 21st year and are run in partnership between Cranfield School of Management and WM.
