Andrew Peters has been appointed managing director of Siemens Motion Control Plant in Congleton, Lancashire effective from 1 July 2014. He will replace Finbarr Dowling, who is to become project director for the new wind turbine manufacturing facilities at Green Port Hull and Paull in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Peters has worked within the electrical and electronic engineering industry for more than 25 years in a wide spectrum of roles within manufacturing, research and development, sales, marketing and training. He has also spent time as a strategic consultant to Cap Gemini.
For over 10 years, he has spent his time in various senior management roles within Siemens, most recently leading the Drive Technologies Division for Siemens Industry UK and Ireland.

The Siemens Motion Control Plant in Congleton began in 1971 as a warehouse and switchboard workshop. The facility now manufacturers more than 1.3m motor drives each year which are used in a variety of applications including baggage handling systems, pumps, factory automation, and even roller coasters.
The site employs over 500 people, and exports 98% of its products to 78 countries.
