There’s another complex engineer-, configure- and make-to-order ERP system in the UK aimed at SME manufacturers in the £5—20 million turnover range– this from Emerge, formed 18 months ago by ex Cincom Phil Nicholls. Nicholls has taken what was Cincom’s Priority system (still supported by the company), developed by Israeli software firm Eshbell, and is growing his own company, with backing from ERP sales and marketing outlet Medatec in Israel. Existing clients include Loddon Stables, Ultronics and World Wide Liquids – some having migrated from Cincom – and Nicholls reckons there are more big names in the pipeline. Typical software and services cost is around £45,000 to £65,000, and the system competes with offerings from the likes of Lilly software, Exel, InforSwan, McGuffie Brunton and K3.
