TotalKare is looking to tap into the expertise of the Italian-based manufacturer to expand into the industry by introducing mobile column lifts to train operators for the first time.
Available in a range of lifting capacities (from 5,500 - 50,000kg), the columns can be configured in sets of 4 to 128 and are supplied to meet Machine Directive 2006/42/CE and approved to European EN1493.
The columns can be used to lift any rolling stock, from wagons and carriages through to complete trains, providing a safe, flexible and comfortable position for operatives to carry out maintenance, repairs and servicing.
“We have been working with Emanuel for five years, supplying its heavy-duty four post lifts into the bus and coach and commercial vehicle sectors,” explained David Hall, managing director of TotalKare.
“Following a number of conservations, we recognised the opportunity to take its manufacturing expertise into the rail sector, where they have similar requirements to provide a safe and fast means of keeping their rolling stock operational.”
He continued: “A number of our Key Account Managers are visiting Italy for intensive product training, which will then be relayed to the rest of the sales team upon their return. This will soon be followed by a number of joint marketing activities to help raise awareness and announce a concerted foray into rail.”
TotalKare’s partnership with Emanuel will be officially showcased for the first time at one of the rail sector’s key events this year.
The two companies will be taking a combined presence on stand L81 at Railtex in May (14 to 16), where visitors to the event at the NEC in Birmingham will able to see an array of mobile column lifts on display.
