Steel profiling firm Malthouse Engineering has taken delivery of five new DAF trucks to help it meet a 50% surge in orders.
The Oldbury, West Midlands-based company has boosted turnover by extending its design and fabrication offer to clients in sectors as varied as agriculture, medical, defence and oil and gas. Now the UK's largest independent steel profiler, Malthouse has five UK sites and needed more vehicles to transport products to customers.
Malthouse MD Roy Taylor said the new fleet had to be reliable, cost effective and easily maintained. "We've worked with Greenhous DAF for some years now and we've been impressed with the level of service we've received throughout that time... Not only will the enhanced fleet enable us to distribute our excellent product range throughout the UK, but it is more environmentally responsible and fuel efficient, thanks to lower carbon emissions to tie in with our ISO14001 environmental management accreditation," he said.
Malthouse's new trucks all have dropside bodies and are two DAF LF45 12-tonne chassis, one DAF CF65 18-tonne sleeper cab chassis, and two DAF CF75 26-tonne sleeper cab chassis. Greenhous DAF, Willenhall, is the DAF main dealer for the West Midlands.
