More than 400 manufacturing users – a mix of new and existing customers – have now been shipped Epicor’s next generation Vantage 8.0 and Vista 8.0 ERP systems, based on the service-orientated architecture (SOA).
Recent takers include AB Tube Processing., ACE Clearwater, Arlex de Mexico SA de CV, Elk River Machine Company, Hacel Lighting, Sargent Electrical Services, The Rooflight Company, Treske Precision Machining and Tulsa Winch Group.
The new systems are built on Microsoft .Net and Web services, and through SOA support, can simplify application integration and supply chain connectivity. They will also enable users to harness others’ software services using open standards.
Epicor’s systems expose all functionality as Web services, making them future-proof and able to be developed.
Californian sheet metal products manufacturer ACE, a Vantage ERP user specialising in complex formed and welded assemblies for the aerospace, automotive and power-generation industries, says it wanted a flexible system that could aggregate and distribute real-time data to users across the company to aid decision-making.
It also wanted user-friendly installation, upgrades and maintenance, and a lower total cost of ownership with simpler system administration.
“We’ve found Vantage 8.0 to be easy to learn and very user-friendly,” confirms King Lum, director of progress at ACE Clearwater. “Vantage 8.0 is a solid product… It’s very responsive.”
