Nominations invited for welding awards

Manufacturing managers whose business enterprises include the process of welding may like to nominate peers and employees as recipients of one of a number of this year’s Welding Institute Awards.

Among the prizes, are the Brooker Medal, given in recognition of the recipient's personal contribution to the science, technology and industrial exploitation of materials joining; the Lidstone Medal, awarded to the person under 40 years of age who is deemed to have made the most significant contribution to the advancement of welding technology over five years; the Larke-Lillicrap Award, in recognition of the paper or journal article that has had most influence or impact on the practical application of novel welding or joining knowledge or technology; the new Bevan Braithwaite Award for enterprise to the benefit of welding and joining. The nominations must be in by 31 March and the awards will be presented at The Welding Institute annual dinner in November.
